Raising money in World of Warcraft can be difficult for a beginner. When you're just starting out, a age of conan gold single silver piece is Atlantica Online Gold a lot of cash, and the 90 gold needed for a mount seems like the ms mesos wealth of Croesus. With enough friends to help, grinding dropped loot can be a maple story mesos path to wealth, but what if you're alone? Many players can't find a guild suited to their taste, or ms mesos play at odd hours when few people are Maple Story Mesos online. This is where the trade skills of Skinning & Leatherworking come in handy. With the help of your friendly neighborhood Auction House at age of conan gold Stormwind or Orgrimmar, these skills can be your best friends in the game. Why Skinning & Leatherworking? Unlike other gathering skills, skinning gets used on enemies you kill, so you can level and gather at the same time, instead of having to sacrifice one for the other. And aoc gold animals are Atlantica Online Gold much more plentiful and cheap wow gold easier to find than herbs or ore deposits. Skinning gets used much more frequently than any other skill. Your skill level will rocket up fast, and you'll need a trainer before you know it. This is one skill you'll never have to "grind". Leather is needed not only by Leatherworkers, but Blacksmiths and Tailors as well. Stacks of Leather are always in demand, and odds are a Blacksmith is not going to have Skinning as his other skill. And many Leatherworkers, especially those beginning the profession at a high character level, can't be bothered to do their own Skinning. So when they need leather, they have to buy it from someone. You. Once your Leatherworking skill reaches 150, it starts to become more profitable than Skinning. You'll be able to craft several items at this level that are in consistent demand at the Auction House. As a Skinner, you can gather your own Leather and make these items for peanuts. As long as you don't overprice the competition they will almost always sell. A word of warning: don't underprice the competition either. This may lead to a temporary spike in your sales, but then the others will match your lower price and you'll all be making less money. When pricing items, check who else is selling the same thing to see what the going rate is, and match it. Always go for a fixed sale rather than an auction; crafters rarely want to wait for their materials. What should I sell? At beginning levels, sell Light Leather in full stacks of 20. Remember that 3 units of Ruined Leather Scraps can be combined into 1 unit of Light Leather. This will not only increase your stocks of Light Leather, but also improve your Leatherworking skill. You can also make Light Armor Kits. These don't sell as well as the leather they're made from, but they do sell, and give you Leatherworking XP. People only need a few of them, so sell them in single units rather than in stacks. Save a few for yourself if you wear leather armor. Around level 15 you'll start fighting creatures that drop Medium Leather. You can also combine 5 units of Light Leather to make 1 units of Medium Leather, however this is only good for XP, as Medium Leather does not sell for 5x the going rate of Light Leather. So from a goldmaking standpoint you're better off just selling the Light Leather. Medium Leather does sell, however, so feel free to sell what you get from Skinning. On most servers the going rate is about twice the going rate for Light Leather. When your Leatherworking skill reaches 100, you can also make Medium Armor Kits. Again, sell the Leather in maximum stacks and the Armor Kits individually. As you level up, both the Leather and the Armor Kits also progress. After Medium comes Heavy, then Thick, then Rugged, and so on. As you go along, make a few other items at each skill level to gather Leatherworking XP. This will cost you money in the short run, as the leather you use up would have sold for more than the things you can make. But this changes once your Leatherworking skill reaches 150. The investment in improving your skill level will pay off in the long run. Once you reach 150, craft the Heavy Quiver and Heavy Leather Ammo Pouch and sell them at the Auction House for around 1 gold each. The Heavy Leather Ball also popular. On weekends, they will sell almost faster than you can make them. In my experience, the Ammo Pouch sells slightly better than the Quiver, but both are reliable and consistent sellers. Remember not to glut the market; two or three at a time seems to work best. When your Leatherworking skill reaches 225, add the Quickdraw Quiver and Thick Leather Ammo Pouch to your repertoire and sell them for 56 gold each. These require Elixers made by a player with the Alchemy skill, but you can usually get them on the Auction House for a price that will let you turn a profit. If you know an Alchemist, even better!
