The STAR method, (invented by me of course!) is a leveling method used by the masses. They quickly head out to do the quest, complete it, and then come back to "turn in" their quest, 3. They gain experience, feel warm and fuzzy, then set out to do the next quest from quest giver "B". 4. They continue this pattern until all the quests in an area are complete, then head on to the next quest rich area. 4. If they were able to watch their leveling progress... say... by an overhead gnome spy blimp, they would see themselves tracing the line of a star with the quest givers in the middle, and the quests as points of a star. Its a very inefficient shape which reveals large amounts of leveling time wasted by just running back and forth, over and over again. Are you following the same leveling method? I put it to you we all need to turn that leveling path of a star into a funnel. If you imagine questing using the funnel method, each quest lies somewhere along the edge of the funnel and its up to you to make the most efficient journey from one to the other, tipping them into the middle as you go. You obviously have to make a trip to the middle yourself to collect them, but its a quick slide to the center, and you only make one journey back for the same reward! The funnel is an inaccurate analogy, but it guides us toward the need to stay out in the field completing quests, and it shows us that we should only return to the middle of the funnel (where the group of quest givers are) once we've completed each and every quest.
